FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Just what is Pinocchio's Marionette Theater?
More than a children's gift shop, Pinocchio's is one of the very few full time marionette (stringed puppet) theaters in the USA. Each day we schedule performances of a classic children's fairy tale or story. After a two or three month run of a title, we change shows. Pinocchio's currently has ten different shows in its repertory. Each show is elaboratly staged in our beautiful theater and each requires three professional puppeteers.

How long do the shows last?
The duration of a show varies by title. Most performences, including the pre-show and backsrage peeks, last about an hour.

Is a two year old too young to attend a performance?
Our shows are written for, and we feel our target audience includes children ages three through ten. However, you know your child best and there are certainly mank exceptions.

How scary are your shows?
We take every opportunity to tone down the grim in Grimm's Fairy Tales. Our villans are typically more foolish than frightening.

I have a one and a half year old. Does she need a ticket?
No. There is no charge for children younger than two years of age.

We came to see a scheduled show and found out the show had been canceled. Why?
It was because our minimum number of reservations for that particular performance were not made. That is why it is important to make prior reservations for a show either by phone or in person at least one hour before showtime.

Do you ever have performances that don't appear on your regular schedule?
Yes, when a group has booked the theater. Unless the group has rented the entire theater, those performances are open to the public as well. Please check with the box office for additional performances. 407-677-8831 ext. 100

Do you permit food and drinks in the theater?
Sorry, but we do not allow eating and drinking in the theater, except for babies in arms.

May my children sit down front on the carpet?
Yes, and adults may also sit on the carpet with their children, if they like. If the children start inching their way to the front of the stage during the show... please scoot them back.

May I reserve seats and sit with my child?
All seating is on a first come first serve basis. Parents may sit with their children, but please take care not to block the view of a child who may be sitting behind them.

May I take photographs during the show?
We do not allow flash or video photography of the actual show. However, if your still camera will take photos with the available stage light, that's fine. You are also welcome to take flash pictures and video of the pre-show.
